Thank you to Carla Kinslow of Rimkus for an excellent presentation at the December luncheon and to Kim Tindal and Associates, Marsha Johnson, and McLarens for the door prize donations.


Because we have limited space for the registration table, attendees are encouraged to prepay using the payment option offered with the registration. This will help reduce congestion in this area.

As with most locations, HCA has a minimum guarantee for the luncheons. If you make a reservation and do not attend, HCA is still responsible for the fees. Therefore, if you make a reservation, your cancellation must be made 48 hours prior to the event. If not, an invoice will be sent to you so that the expenses may be recouped.

Join us for Houston Claims Association’s luncheon meeting on Wednesday, January 9, 11:15 am, at The Palm, 6100 Westheimer. Henry Scarnecchia of S-E-A Limited will present an one-hour course on Vehicle Accident Reconstruction. On-line cost is $37.50 for members; $42.50 for non-members. If you have a specific topic you wish to have presented or speaker you would like to hear, please contact Greg Schuelke, Kaitlyn Henning, or any Board Member.


Rimkus has graciously asked HCA to join them, ATI, HSSK, and Lemieux & Associates to sponsor a CE program on Thursday, February 14. It will be held at Eight Greenway Plaza, First Floor Conference Room. Five (5) hours of approved courses will be presented, one of which will be ethics. Complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration will begin at 8:30 and the program will end at 3:00 pm. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. There is no fee for this seminar.


Thank you!! Thank you!! What a wonderfully generous response for our annual toy/food drive!! Food items were donated to Pathway Food Pantry and the toys were taken to Fire Station 76 for Operation Stocking Stuffer. Both organizations and the families served truly appreciated your generosity.

Be sure to mark you calendars to join us for the Casino/Membership Drive on Thursday, February 7, 2019, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, at the Cadillac Bar, 1802 Shepherd. We will have blackjack, craps, roulette and Texas Hold’em tables, live music and dancing, door prizes, raffle prizes, good food and beverages and more. Make your reservations now. Details are below. Because of the number of options, please contact the Association office, 281.933.4028, or by e-mail, to register. Remember, if you bring a guest who becomes at member at the event, your 2019 membership fee will be waived.


Be thinking about putting together a team or sponsoring a hole or beverage cart for the annual Spring Golf Tournament to be held Thursday, April 11, at Wildcat Golf Course. A committee is working on new ideas for the tournament. Watch for flyers soon. It is always a good time and supports the scholarship program.


Help HCA grow. If you bring in a new member or associate member, your 2019 membership fee will be waived. Membership renewal time is now! The 2019 Membership Renewal Form is available on HCA’s website. Fees for 2019 are increasing to $60.00 (on-line $62.50). Corporate rates for applications submitted together and paid for in one payment are $57.00 each for 6 – 15 employees and $55.00 each for 16 or more employees. For new employees, please use the new member application form also found below. If you are a service provider for the insurance industry, you are encouraged become an Associate Member. Forms may be found below.




Scholarship application forms for the 2019-2020 scholastic year are now available below, through the Association office, and at the luncheon meetings and seminars through February. As education costs continue to increase, supplemental funding is even more important. If you have been a member of the Association for one year, have attended at least four meetings within this past year, and your student meets the following requirements, she/he is encouraged to apply: graduating high school senior applying to a university or vocational tech school or is currently enrolled in a university or vocational tech school; financially dependent on parent/guardian who is an HCA member; and under 25 years of age at the beginning of the scholastic year (September 1, 2019.) Current and past recipients are eligible and are encouraged to apply. Please remember that incomplete forms and forms received after the March 1, deadline, will NOT be considered. Interviews will be held March 16 and the location will be announced.
