The February CE Seminar was a huge success. Thank you Taylor Burkhalter for coordinating the courses presented by Brianne Richardson of Adams and Reese law firm and Ken Taylor, Kari Verner, and Tom Penshorn of S-E-A Limited.

ATTENTION ALL HOUSTON CLAIMS ASSOCIATION MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATE MEMBERS - If you have not renewed your 2020 membership, NOW is the time. Membership must be current to remain on the e-mail list, receive the monthly newsletters, and receive CE credits at future luncheons and seminars.

The 2020 Membership Renewal Form may be downloaded below. Fees for 2020 are $60.00 if paid by check or cash and $62.50 if paid on-line. For new employees, please use the new member application form found on the HCA website. You can help HCA grow; if you bring a new person to an upcoming luncheon and he/she joins the Association, your 2020 membership fee will be waived.

The date is set and good weather has been ordered for the HCA Spring Golf Tournament. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, April 14, at Wildcat Golf Club, 12000 Almeda Road, Houston 77045. Flyers have been sent out. If you did not receive one, please download via the link below or contact the office. Look for the new options for this event!! NO ON-LINE REGISTRATION AVAILABLE. Co-beneficiaries of this event are MD Anderson’s Children’s Art project and the HCA Scholarship program. We are looking forward to your participation.

HCA Spring Golf 2020


Houston Claims Association’s March CE Luncheon will be held Wednesday, March 11, 11:15 am, at The Palm, 6100 Westheimer, Houston, TX 77057. The program, “Wind and Hail Damage,” will be presented by Tony Pina of Rimkus Consulting Group. The course has been approved by TDI/Sircon for 1-hour general credit. On line cost is $40.00 for Members/Associate Members and $47.50 for Non-members. Please RSVP to the Association office by calling 281.933.4028 or register online BY CLICKING HERE by Friday, March 6.

To help streamline sign in, attendees are encouraged to prepay using the payment option offered with the registration.

As with most locations, HCA has a minimum guarantee for the luncheons and a deadline to submit the head count. HCA’s deadline is noon on the Saturday before the luncheon. If you make a reservation and do not attend, HCA is still responsible for the fees. Therefore, if you make a reservation, your cancellation must be made by 5:00 pm Friday prior to the event. If not, an invoice will be sent to you so that the expenses may be recouped.


April 8 - 1-hour program “Recent Changes to Appraisal in First-Party Insurance Claim”, to be presented by Danny Abbott and Danny Schick of the Galloway Firm. This is also the Annual Meeting with election of the 2020-2021 Board of Directors and presentation of the scholarship awards.

May 13 – 4-hour seminar to be hosted by Engineering Systems.

HCA’s Annual Meeting will be held at the April 8 luncheon meeting. At this meeting, scholarships will be awarded and the 2020 – 2021 Board of Directors will be elected. Positions open are the Vendor Member and One Year Member at Large. Anyone wishing to place his/her name on the ballot needs to contact any current Board member or the Association office.


You can make your company more visible by placing your business card ad on the Vendor Directory website page. A link between the ad and your website will be established. Cost of advertising is $200.00 per 3-month period, renewable each quarter. Please contact the Association office for details.


Welcome new members/associate members: Bobby Calhoun, Hillary Calhoun, Robert Chazez, Maxwell Goodgame, Jayne Pride, and Rafael Velasco. Please look for them at our meetings and make them welcome.
